Visiting Scholar: Professor Phil Willis, University of Bath

This month, GEElab welcomes visiting scholar, Professor Phil Willis from the University of Bath.

Phil is the Director of the National Centre for Digital Entertainment (digital-entertainment.org) which is a joint venture with Bournemouth University's Media School and the University of Bath. Phil is also the former head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bath (2008-2014). The Centre for Digital Entertainment is a nationally funded research training centre which has 50 students placed in digital entertainment companies, mainly games, visual effects and animation. It has studentships for 50 further students. Students are supported by a team of academics during their placement with industry which makes their work highly regarded and the students very employable. 

Phil will be occupying a desk at the RMIT GEElab for the next month, whilst he and his wife Anne are in Australia.
