The opportunity to present at CHI engages an extensive submission process of which only a select few are able to present. Gamification and innovation PhD researcher - Marigo Raftopoulos, gamificaton and game based learning PhD researcher – Lauren Ferro and childhood games and reading PhD researcher - Fatma Al Aamri each presented workshops at this year’s Conference. When asked about the opportunities of presenting at CHI, first time presenter, 22 year old Lauren Ferro says “Presenting about social media and through the lens of game design at CHI was exciting, especially to see other perspectives and opinons on the topic. It is great to understand how other researchers and industries are approaching and integrating gamification into their applications”.

GEElab PHD candidates are currently writing papers for the 2014 conference – applications close in September 2013.
